Job description
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the strategic objectives of the manufacturing division.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis in compliance with local regulations and international accounting standards.
- Cost Management: Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses, and implement strategies to optimize cost efficiency and enhance profitability.
- Inventory Control: Establish and maintain effective inventory management procedures to ensure accurate valuation, minimize excess inventory, and support production requirements.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to meet operational needs and investment commitments, while minimizing financing costs and risks.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding tax, liaising with tax authorities as necessary.
- Internal Controls: Implement and monitor robust internal control procedures and policies to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Financial Systems Optimization: Review and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance skills and capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Strategic Decision Support: Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making, investment evaluation, and business planning initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or ACCA qualification required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance management, with a focus on manufacturing operations.
- Preferred fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation regulations in Portugal.
- Experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems, with the ability to leverage technology for process improvements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
